Eco Church

We believe that all Christians have a duty to care for God’s creation. You will see how we do that in various parts of our church life.

Eco Church is an award scheme for churches of all denominations in England and Wales, who want to show that the gospel is good news for God’s earth. (The scheme is called Eco Congregation in Scotland and Ireland).

Eco Church is run by ARocha UK, a Christian charity working to protect and restore the natural world. They are committed to equipping Christians and churches in the UK to care for the environment.

For the award each church looks at five key areas of church life:

• Worship and teaching.
• Management of church buildings.
• Management of church land.
• Community and global engagement.
• Lifestyle.

By reviewing church activities in these areas they can qualify for the Eco Church Award at Bronze, Silver or Gold level.

We achieved the Bronze award in September 2021. We hope to achieve the Silver award during 2023.

• news about caring for creation.
• details of what our church and others are doing as part of the scheme.
• suggestions for reducing, reusing or recycling in your daily life.
