tubs of chocolates

For many people indulging in a few chocolates, sweets and crackers over the festive period, is part of Christmas. In the UK we are buying tens of millions of these plastic tubs every year!

Greene King is running 'Tub2Pub', a recycling campaign to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and recycle plastics.

From 1 January – 11 February 2024, their pubs and restaurants, will accept your clean and empty plastic confectionery, biscuit and cracker tubs.Simply leave your tubs with a Greene King staff member at the bar or welcome station within one of their locations.

After 11 February, all the tubs will be collected and taken to a plastic reprocessing centre where they're shredded, before being sold onto plastic manufacturers to use in place of virgin plastics. All money raised from the sale of Tub2Pub plastics will be givendirectly to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Last year they collected over 24,000 tubs raising £6,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Can you help break that record? Please just make sure the tubs are empty and clean.

Locally there are 3 Greene King managed pubs where you can drop off your tubs:
The Royal Oak Hucclecote Road
The Wheatstone Inn Barnwood
The Kings Head Upton St Leonards
