We believe that all Christians have a duty to care for God's creation. You will see how we do that in various parts of our church life.

Eco Church is an award scheme for churches of all denominations in England and Wales, who want to show that the gospel is good news for God's earth. Each church has to look at five key areas of church life to qualify for a bronze, silver or gold Eco Church Award.
We achieved the Bronze award in September 2021.
Progress towards the Silver award:
We have already achieved the Gold standard in two of the five categories.
We are silver in another two.
The area we need to particularly work on is our building.
We have already done a lot including:
We have a beautiful church building but because of its age (almost 100yrs), both heating and insulating the building are a challenge. The Stewards are working with the Property and Finance Committee to actively explore how we can improve things in a cost-effective way. This includes identifying potential grants to help the fund-raising for the work we will need to do. If you have ideas on things we can do please speak to one of the Stewards or the Property and Finance Committee.
Please pray for the application, and that all our work will result in a Silver award and provide more evidence that we take climate change seriously and we are actively trying to do something about it.
If you visit the church, please take a few moments to look at the Eco Church noticeboard in the church hall.
